AI outside LLM jobs salary

I've been diving into the AI job market lately and came across this site that shows like AI paygrades or something, like real industry offers in AI roles. A the median is showing around $326K/year. But so far there's only like 170 verified entries so far. Is this reflective of what's being currently paid for AI roles? How real is this?

That number seems skewed high likely because of the small sample size. $326K isn't the median for a standard AI/ML role.

That's top-tier FAANG/AI lab total compensation (TC) for senior/principal researchers or specialists.

A more realistic range for a typical non-LLM ML engineer is closer to $150K-$220K. The $300K+ packages are real but they're for the top 5-10% of roles, not the median.

What's probably happening is that the people submitting data are from the higher end, those working at FAANG or in cutting edge research, most AI roles, even decent ones, don't come close to that unless you're at that level or in a really hot market

Why do you think the median is showing that high, do you think it's skewed by big tech senior roles, or is that actually becoming standard across the AI industry now?

A median AI salary of $326K from just 170 entries? That's fantasy land! Most actual AI engineers earn well under $200K, even top mids. Unless you're elite or at a hyper-growth unicorn, those numbers aren't remotely realistic.
